I like to make ahead and freeze pies. Makes it so easy in the winter to bake one for special occasions.
here is how I bake a frozen pie:
First I put aluminum foil around the outer edges of the pie crust so it won't burn or get too dark. ( remove it after the pie has baked 1/2 hour
Put the frozen pie (do NOT thaw it) in a preheated 425 degree oven and bake for 15 minutes.
Reduce the heat to 350 degrees and bake for another 1/2 hour to 45 minutes.
