Hi, Maggie here. My wonderful husband, Wayne and I live south of Wichita KS, just across the state line into OK, on our 400 acre ranch. Wayne and I have a daughter, who has 3 children of her own and a son at KS-State. Our 2 canine kids are Ruggie and Maddi, our chocolate labs. I have a 11yoa qh mare named Whitney and a 3yoa appy gelding, Mr. Moose that I ride, Wayne rides a 9yoa appy named Annie. Wayne has just started riding horses this last year and I've ridden since I was little. We ride pleasure trail and belong to the Winfield Saddle Club. We have a weekend package on our trailer, and we're always looking for a ride to go on.

Hello to all, I'm new to this site (intro from a friend brought me here) I'm 41 and about about to be single for THE last time. I have 4 horses, Avery, Chaos, Sandy & Ginger. (one that I can count on as the others are too young and inexperienced just yet) two mini aussies ( Abby and Ellie ) and two fine sons who have long since outgrown me. I'm planning to join in the gathering coming up in a couple of weeks and look forward to meeting a few of you in person. Ev

Welcome, Ev! I would tell you to post pictures of all the kids (2-legged and/or 4-legged) but we hate pictures here . . . JUST KIDDING!!!! Actually, we insist on pictures. We're close to the same age, though my fine sons are several years out from outgrowing me! They're only 8 and 9 (yes, I started late). ;D DH and I have been married for 14 years and we live in NW Florida with our boys, one Golden Retriever (rescue) and are owned by 2 Arabian geldings.

Hi All! New member here and glad I stumbled across this site. I am a soon-to-be 48 yo horseperson wannabe trapped in my little girl self (meaning I always wished i'd grown up around horses) and just now getting into it. Can anyone else relate? I feel very fortunate that I am finally able to pursue my little girl dream but at the same time am frustrated because I'm 40 years behind!!!! At least! Anyway, I took the summer off and just plain "horsed around". I am an occupational therapist and working on my therapeutic riding instructor certification (I volunteer at a barn that teaches therapeutic riding and also offers hippotherapy), taking lessons myself, making friends in the horse world, and even became a certified equine massage therapist this summer! So I'm off to a good start. Last month our barn took 13 athletes and 5 horses downstate for Special Olympics. It was an awesome experience! Myself, I know I need to take baby steps and be patient with myself while I make up for lost time. My goal is to be in Ireland on an equestrian vacation for my 50th birthday.
Nice to "meet" you all - looking forward to being part of this group!

Welcome, tk! I'm so pleased you'd join us! There's a wide variety of horse experience here, and no one knows it all. There are lots of folks who had to wait for adulthood to fulfill horsey dreams, so we do understand! (I was one of those, too.) How wonderful to have an occupation that will allow you to take a sabbatical and go do other things! Are you back to work yet? Again, welcome to the board!

Welcome tk. Where are you from? I'm learning something new all the time. That's what keeps me young in spirit anyway.
