We went to PA last week for a car drift (DH's thing) and got a Amish whoopie pie and it was awesome! So today as I have cravings but no supplies to make things I had to just imagine. Someone try it out and let me know if it's as yummy as it sounds! whatscookingamerica.net/History/WhoopiePieHistory.htm

Almost like Moon Pies Have you had Shoo Fly Pies from Amish country? talk about a diabetic coma! but I bet with as few labor-saving devices as they have, they can use the calories. LOL, I just realized how funny it was to have Amish treats at a Drift event!

lol well it wasn't actually at the drift event (that would have been funny!). Most of the hotels close to the drift event was expensive so I threw out there...let's go camping! We stayed in a cabin and they came to the campgrounds with a bunch of goodies.

You gotta have the whoopie pies with the peanut butter filling - way better than the regular filling! I am going to have to try that recipe and see how good it is!

Don't bother making these - not like the Amish ones at all!! I thought they'd be really good - nope - pretty bad! Glad I got neighbors that have kids - they'll be on a sugar high for days!
