Sorry!!! I promised to post this and forgot. SORRY SORRY SORRY!!! It's snaffle's recipe Peel and slice 2 inches of apples in an 8x8 lightly greased pan. I don't peel them.Sprinkle cinnamon over them lightly. Cover apples with this mixture: 1 cup flour 1 cup sugar (if using red delicious, cut in half) 1 egg, beaten. 1/4 cup butter, 1/4 cup crisco melted. (( I used a half cup butter and no criscoMix and drop over apples. Sprinkle cinnamon over this. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.

I read this first as "two apples" and I'm thinking - WAY TOO MUCH topping. I'll have to try this. Thanks!

One of the secrets to the recipe is to use a top quality brand cinnamon
Raleigh or Watkins.. are my choices

I just put this in the oven. Too bad i don't have any ice cream to go with it. I debated because I"m cutting junk food out of my diet, but this is made with APPLES so it's ok. Even though it does have all that sugar! At least it's REAL sugar. I haven't had apple crisp in AGES.
