A friend gave me this recipe and it tastes just like my mom used to make. I am sad I never wrote down all the recipes she had in her head. She always used to laugh and say you've made it enough you'll rememeber. Somehow I can never get things just like mom used to make.
1-2 lbs of steak, your choice sliced thinly 2 tbsp of oil 1/2 c chopped onion1 beef boullion cube dissolved in 1 c water 2 cans of tomatoes (14-15oz) 1 clove of garlic 1-2 peppers sliced thinly I use a combo of red,yellow,green 2 tbsp of cornstarch 2 tbsp of soy sauce 2 tbsp of water salt and pepper
Brown meat slowly in the oil. Add the garlic and onionsn and saute lightly. Season with salt and pepper. Add the dissolved boullion and water. Cover and simmer until meat is almost tender about 20-25 min. Then add the tomatoes and the peppers. Cook 10 min longer. Mix the water, soy sauce and cornstarch. Add to meat mixture, blend well and cook for another 5-10 min.
This is wonderful over rice.
