With all this talk about scales, what kind do you have and what do you like about them? I bought a new scale for DH while he was in and out of the hospital but they don't work well. It is very difficult to read them consistently. Needless to say, they are not digital - I got them because our digital were not working well - maybe just old in retrospect - I don't work as well as I used to without new batteries either. So which are the best with a reasonable price? MJ

You'd laugh at mine, but I have a Big Green Monster. My FIL was a doctor, and it's the one that was in his office for decades. It has the two little sliding counterbalances, and will even measure your height. It's the one in your doctor's hallway that you grumble about and put down your purse before climbing on. It's very accurate. I loff it. It's my buddy.

oh my!!!I think Mary Ann has the BEST scale!!! you lucky dog you!! I have a digital that has half pound increments. I love that feature... because sometimes that half pound can give me a mental boost. My scale was a cheapo from Walmart... not the first digital I have bought. They last me for several years.. maybe ten. I cut a piece of board just a tad larger than the scale and set the scale on the board. we have carpet in the bathroom... (I HATE carpet in a bathroom) and the scale isnt accurate on the carpet. I set my feet in EXACTLY the same spot each time. If I step on it differently...get off and then get on again.. it wont weigh the same. If my husband gets on it before me.. it wont read correctly for me so I let it 'cool' down.
