That for eacy pound of muscle you add to your body, your base metabolism will burn an additional 50 calories a day. If you add 10 pounds of muscle in a year, which is a realistic goal for someone who starts our relatively unfit, that means you can potentially increase your "burn rate" by 3,500 calories a week!!! 3,500 calories = 1 pound energy
That will make it so much easier to maintain the weight loss!!!

Yes. You will burn more energy with a fit body (which is why fit people can eat more). So, the more muscle you have, the better your metabolism is. However, you have to continue to maintain that muscle gain.
