I am making a muffin recipe that calls for applesauce, I am out of it. Is there anything, other than fat, that I can use as a substitute?

Try pureed pumpkin or pureed prunes.

Oh! I forgot pureed bananas.
What kind of recipe is it?

Next time get applesauce in those little individual cups. Then you can always have some in the cupboard for baking.

That's a good idea, I've been buying large jars and making a lot of horse treats for the rescue that Sunkist is at. I go through applesauce like crazy for those. If I bought the little ones, I wouldn't use those for the horse treats because it would take so many of them.
Thanks for the idea.
