I'm looking for some good homemade bread recipes, specifically white bread and ciabatta. Does anyone have a good recipe they use, or if not, a good site that has some yummy bread recipes?

Okay, here ya go! This one smells so good while it's baking you could die! Onion Dill Bread 1pkg or 1 TBS dry yeast 1/4 cup warm water 2 eggs 3/4 cup cottage cheese 1/4 cup finely chopped onion 1 TBS butter 1TBS sugar 2 tsp. dill weed 1 tsp. salt 3 1/2 cups (more or less) bread flour, or you can substitute regular white flour and make 1/4 cup of it gluten flour 1. Dissolve yeast in warm water. 2. Mix eggs, cottage cheese, onion, butter, sugar, and dill together in a bowl. Stir in dissolved yeast and 1 1/2 cups of flour. Beat vigorously until smooth, about 2 minutes. 3. Add salt and enough remaining flour to make a stiff dough. Knead until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes by machine, or more by hand. 4. Form into a ball and place in a lightly oiled bowl. Turn it once to coat the surface of the dough with oil. Cover with a cloth and let rise in a warm, draft-free place until doubled in bulk, about 1 1/2 hours. 5. Punch the dough down and let it rest for ten minutes. Divide in half and shape into two round loaves. Place on a greased baking sheet and let rise again until almost doubled, 45 minutes to an hour. 6. Brush the loaves with beaten egg. Slash the tops, if you like. Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 25-30 minutes, until crust is golden brown and loaf sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom. Enjoy!

Also, how dilly is it? I want to make it for Jeff and he likes dill but in SMALL amounts. I personally LOVE dilly bread, but how dilly is this recipe?

It's not that dilly; it's mainly oniony. The dill is mainly color; there's only 2 tsp in two rustic loaves. A bit more onion than the 1/4 cup is not a crime. It's a very, very fragrant bread that stays moist and also makes a good dinner roll. This is a great one to cook for a man; if he likes that sort of hearty food, he'll think he's died and gone to heaven to find the likes of you! As for good bread websites, I get all my old standards from cookbooks like Bernard Clayton's Book of Breads, Beard on Bread, and the like. But you could try Epicurious and allrecipes. They'd probably have a few. Are you looking for anything more? We're mainly the whole wheat type, but we enjoy some white breads, too. And sweet breads, of course.

Do you ever eat Hawaiian sweet bread? It's one of our favorites, and it's really quite easy to make. Tastes just like the $3 a loaf stuff, and way cheaper!
Ingredients:
* 6 cups plain flour * 3 eggs * 1 cup pineapple juice * 1 cup water * 3/4 cup sugar * 1/2 teas. ginger * 1 teaspoon vanilla * 2 packages yeast * 1 stick margarine
Directions:
Beat eggs; add pineapple juice, water, sugar, ginger, vanilla and melted margarine. Put 3 cups flour in a large mixing bowl. Add egg mixture and stir until well mixed. Sprinkle in yeast, 1 package at a time, mixing well. Gradually add other 3 cups flour. Batter will be hard to mix with spoon. You may have to use your hand. Make sure it's mixed well. Leave batter in bowl and cover with cloth and place in warm place. Let rise 1 hour. Remove from bowl and knead in 1/2 cup flour. Knead about 10 times. Divide into 3 equal parts and place in well greased round cake pans. Cover and place in warm place and let rise about 1 hour. Bake at 350 degrees 25 to 30 minutes.

We like Hawaiian bread with Beer/Cheese Dip. Heres the recipe: 1 can cheese whiz, 1 8 oz cream cheese, splash worcheshire sauce, 1 cup beer. It sounds awful, but it is sooo good! Oh, melt it all together, add beer to keep it liquidy enough.
