Dog Biscuits
2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour 1/2 cup Non-Fat Dry Milk Powder (powdered milk) 1/2 teaspoon salt 6 tablespoons butter/margarine, softened 1 egg 1 cup cold water 1 1/2 teaspoons wheat germ 1 1/2 teaspoons nutritional yeast (not baking yeast)
Can get last 2 ingredients from health food store.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cream butter and egg until well blended. Sift flour, powdered milk, salt, wheat germ and nutritional yeast. Add flour mixture and cold water alternately to butter and egg mixture. Knead 2-3 minutes.
Roll dough out on a lightly floured surface to 1/4" to 1/2" thick. Dip cookie cutter in flour and cut out dog biscuits.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 25 - 30 minutes.
Nutritional yeast helps your dog keep fleas away and wheat germ helps your dog have a nice coat.
You can use 2 tablespoons butter and 1/3 cup peanut butter.
Also - you can make more, smaller biscuits, by using knife and cutting into small squares after the dough is rolled out.
My dogs loff these!
