Bread Pudding with Cherries
2 lbs tart cherries 10 slices stale white bread Butter 4 egg yolks 1 cup half and half 2/4 cup sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract Powdered sugar
Preheat oven to 400F. Butter soufflé dish; set aside. Drain cherries well. Take bread and spread each slice with butter. Layer bread and Cherries alternately in dish. In medium bowl beat together eggs, half and half, sugar and vanilla. Pour mixture over bread. Bake for 50 minutes or until top layer forms a golden crust. Sprinkle powdered sugar over top. Serve warm.

OMG! I love bread pudding and this one sounds heavenly. I've never seen one with cherries. A favorite German restuarant got me hooked on cherry jam thought LOL.
