Noblesse Oblige Pancake
½ cup all purpose flour ½ cup milk 2 eggs lightly beaten dash freshly grated nutmeg ½ stick butter 2 Tbsp powdered sugar 2 Tbsp fresh squeezed lemon juice
Preheat oven to 425F Combine first 4 ingredients in medium bowl. Put 12 inch skillet with heatproof handle in oven. Melt butter in skillet. When butter is melted and skillet is very hot (important) pout batter into skillet. Bake until golden brown, about 15 minutes. Remove from oven, slide on large plate, sprinkle with lemon and powder sugar. Serve at once.

Mmmm, looks sort of like a Dutch pancake! But the nutmeg makes me think French. Sure looks good! When we used to make Dutch pancakes, I'd pull them from the oven and put shaved bittersweet chocolate on it, and it'd melt. Then I'd serve with whipped cream from our beautiful Jersey cow. It was soooo deluxe!

did not know that Mary-Ann.I used to get this pancake in my Grandmas house. Her housekeeper was Czech and I always thought that it was a Czech recipe. I have made this for my kids in, like forever, and it is the only pancake I will eat. They call it Mom's pancake here. ;D

I've been hankering for pancakes lately. I'm going to have to try these... dang, Im going to put that weight back on if I try all the yummy recipes on this board!
