Ray wants cookies, but frankly it's waaaay too hot outside to fire up the oven. Even with the AC on, I just don't feel like baking...
any ideas??

What were the ones we used to make when we were young hippies that were raisins, sunflower seeds, peanut butter, and chocolate chips kinda ground up a bit in the blender, then rolled in chopped nuts?
I know I could fake it, but I'd hate to write it down that way.
Was Ray ever a hippie?

I was the hippie, Ray was a biker, LOL....
I found the recipe for the one that uses sugar, cocoa milk peanut butter and oatmeal, cooked on top of the stove and then made into balls and chilled in the fridge. They gobbled those up last night.
I kinda remember the ones you are talking about.

Thanks Mary Ann. That one sounds interesting. I'll bet Char could have used a few of those in her saddle pack!
Here's a version of the one I ended up using, except I left out the coconut and I used whole oats, not quick oats.

Those sound really good! And I'd leave the coconut in; I really like it.
On AllRecipes, I found a no bake one that turns out little cookies that look like hamburgers. Would John be amused?

No Bake Deluxe Hamburger Cookies Submitted by: Jody "Fun cookies that look like little hamburgers!" Original recipe yield: 1 dozen.
INGREDIENTS: 24 vanilla wafer cookies 12 small peppermint patties 4 drops green food coloring 12 medium green gumdrops, sliced 2 tablespoons sesame seeds 4 small rolls of apricot fruit leather 1/2 cup flaked coconut
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DIRECTIONS: Place the coconut and the food coloring in a bowl with a lid. Shake till all coconut is covered. Set aside. Place 12 of the vanilla wafers flat side up on a cookie sheet. After unwrapping all of the peppermint patties, place them on top of the wafers. Unwrap the fruit roll-ups (optional) and cut into squares. Place on top of the all of the patties to look like cheese. Then place the sliced gumdrops on the top of that. Add the coconut. Place the other half of the wafers over the top of the coconut. With a small kitchen brush lightly paint a VERY small amount of water on the tops of the cookies. Finally shake or sprinkle a small amount of sesame seeds over the wafers.
