It's right in the front were my hair is really thin any way. It's itchy and oozing and looks like hell. I've got to go get a shot before people start thinking I'm a leper! I have it on my arm and neck too, that I can live with, but the crap on my scalp is really bad and of course if I put medicine on it my hair will look all skanky and greasy.

Oh, no! How strange! Did you get it anywhere else? My heart goes out to you; I hate getting poison ivy.
Sending quick recovery vibes!

I also have it on my face, neck and half my right arm is covered. It got way worse over night so I just made a DRs appointment to get a shot, since I think that it has gone systemic. Last time I had it all over like this, I just about never got rid of it. And I got it clearing fence rows so I could put up new fence to give the mares a big nice pasture. I kept getting blackberry briars caught in my hair so I guess that's how I got it on my scalp. What I go through for the horses!

Aw, Hasha, blackberry briars weren't bad enough in the hair, they had to have poison ivy on them too!
Sometimes a steroid shot really is the only way. When my daughter was about 5 years old she got poison ivy all over her face, and the only thing that helped her was a nice big shot of prednisone.
You know what's good for blackberry briars--a goat. Course, you have to fence the goat in first, so I guess it's all the same.

It's not the worst place to have it...When my friend started up her riding stable she had to clear the trails. Her boyfriend came to help out and apparently he had to take a potty break while he was out in the woods. He ended up with a nasty rash on his ...um..well...ya know...Well right away he blamed his girlfriend for cheating on him and giving him some disease, LOL! He finally had to go to the doc and get a shot and some cream! Yeouch!
Hope you feel better soon.
It seems that I am one of the lucky ones that is not allergic to the stuff. I never even knew what it looked like until a couple years ago and I have been out playing in the woods since I was little. Of course I am not willing to go rolling around naked in it to find out so maybe I've just been lucky enough to avoid it.

Tea tree oil will help stop the itch. If you can find some shampoo (Paul Mitchell makes a great one!) it REALLY helps! I've started using tea tree oil body wash and shampoo every time I shower, because I never know when I've been exposed to poison oak or poison ivy. We've got both on our place and I can tell you that poison ivy is 10 times worse then poison oak! You can dab tea tree oil onto the arms and everywhere else. Well you can put it on your scalp, too, but like you said, it will leave your hair oily! I just got over having poison ivy on my upper lip. Believe it or not, I managed to transfer it to my lip from my elbow! ;D How's that for a visual! Renee

I went to the Dr and got the shot and it really worked. With in 4 hours I could see it starting to dry up! Amazing! I have actually gotten it on my chin from getting horsey kisses from Weaver. They graze in it and get the oil on their lips and being such thoughtful creatures, they give it to me. ;D The really dumb thing is, I still let him give me kisses! ;D
