OK, they're not very long, but they are much better than the bitten nubs I have had all my life. I think the Wellbutrin is working. I'm finding myself less easily rattled about things and the other day I realized my nails are growing. I'm just not biting them like I used to. This is a wonderful thing to me. Am I getting better? chris

Good for you!! It was hard for me to stop biting my nails too, and I chewed them to the stubs. Now they are a nice length (I do have to keep them a bit short, hard to type with long nails) and I like wearing nail polish sometimes (to feel girly!) Kudos to you for kicking the habit, it's a hard one!

Congrats! I don't have any nails any more, but that just because I clumsy and break them off all the time! ;D

I grew some nails around Christmas time, but finally gave in and chewed them off. Had to much stress.

Mine are thin and brittle, and I'm a biter. I usually have about two decent nails and eight broken ones. I've thought about getting acrylics, but I'm told they feel 'dead.' Like it doesn't feel good to scratch your back, etc. And I don't want them in the way. A lot of WP riders get them, and wear big jewelry when they show. It's a good thing EP riders wear gloves. I really get sick of having stubby crappy nails, though. Congratulations to you, Chris! Keep 'em while you can!

Mary Ann, I'm sure it's the anti depressant working. I've learned that it's the same thing as Zyban, they use for quitting smoking. It's also used to help people with other cravings.
I've noticed I'm also not craving sweets the way I did before.

Hey, get advantages where you can! I don't crave sweets anymore, except when I PMS. Then I crave everything. And fortunately, I'm not depressed, but I do have issues with anxiety. Stupid, pointless affliction. I do take something for it; I'd be lost without it. But my nails remain crummy. I'm like a horse with poor feet and thin haircoat! Should I take some biotin?

Congrats, Chris! I've had long nails all my life. I grew up on a farm, and knew where my nails had been...I've never been a biter. Try scratching your dusty ponies a lot, and then don't wash your hands unless you absolutely HAVE to. ;D Mary Ann, those acrylic nails are awful! They don't scratch worth a darn, and they're heavy & awkward. Oh, and for the brittle nails, aside from the Biotin (lol), I hear shea butter strengthens them a good deal. And, I even know where you might get some good shea nail & cuticle cream, too.

I used to be a horible nail biter, but I stopped without even thinking about it. I have to keep them trimmed fiarly short though, because they are pretty weak and I end up bending them backwards or snagging them on things!

a month and it's really helping him. He has lots more zest for life. His stamina for work has really increased. He is more like himself than he has been for a long time. I'm soooo glad it's helping you. Good news for two people I love!

It's an anti depressant that works differently that typical SSRIs (seratonin reuptake inhibitors), like Prozac...
Remember how stressed I was last fall. It came to a head in December and I was thinking some thoughts I've not thought before.. .it was terrifying. I was at an all time mental low. I talked to my doctor about it and he wanted me to try the Wellbutrin.
It's not a cure all, but I sure feel much better and I'm able to roll with the punches a lot better now.
I feel like me again. It's incredible. My husband was on it for his addiction issues, but it didnt' really help him. Like everything else, it's not a panacea, but for the people it does help , it's a miracle.
FrostyM, I'm so glad your DH is responding to it. I'm on the lowest dose, the child dosage and it's just a miracle.

You were frazzled but you handelt it so well. And right after that is when DH had his foot operation and was laid up. You poor thing I remember it was a tough time for you. I am so glad you found something that helps you Chris. Nothing is worst then being unrecognizable to oneself. Great going GF!!!!
