Old Penny got peckish the last year or two of her life. Doc said as long as she was still eating we were fine. I would do whatever I could to tempt her to eat. I know her teeth (or the lack thereof) made it difficult for her sometimes, but after a few days of inappetance her desire to eat always came back. Dear old Penny took the decision out of my hands and passed away in the night.

I am so sorry to hear about your sick lil guy. Makes you feel so helpless. I sure pray that the vet can make him better and get him pain free fast.

Oh my, I mislead you! Penny died September 24th, not in the last few days. The grief was very private, and I only told a few people by e-mail. I didn't say anything on SM. I'm hoping my little doggie will heal quickly! It breaks my heart to see him in such pain. Thanks so much for your good wishes.

Oh-sorry! I just meant that our Shepherd getsvery into his breakfast! Its the high point of his day (besides trying to catch the cat or getting to go for a car ride). Now our Newfoundland - believe it or not- sometimes getting his breakfast we have to practically beg him to put the effort into it. And, he's only 1 1/2! He's just very unmotivated. Do any of you feed your dog pumpkin? I am on a Newfoundland forum where they sing the praises of feeding pumpkin. So, my dogs both get a scoop of pumpkin in their food. They love it, its easy on the stomach and its good for thm.
