You guys did such a great job reviewing Karen's church site, I'd like you to look over the Kansas Alanon site I've built. Let me know if there are typos, if something doesn't make sense, if there are broken links, etc. I have't put it on any search engines yet cause I want it to be right first! ksalanon.fws1.com/index.htmlthanks! chris

Chris, When you bring up the page, you can't see the whole page, right to left. I don't know if you can do anything about that or not. Linda

Linda, it's that way on mine too, and on many other sites. I always figured it's because I use a little laptop. Anyway, I think the intention is to slide the viewing area to the right, and scroll up and down without the menu bar.
Chris, the only criticism I can offer is that I would probably change the typeface. For some reason, that typewriter font (I don't know the name) is harder for me to read. I'd probably choose something simpler, like Arial. But it's not a deal breaker.
Overall, the site is very easy to negotiate. And it's very peaceful. I don't know how you suggested peace; the colors, the pictures, the organization of text and borders, or what; but it's there. I'm sure you'll help a lot of folks; sometimes it's hours or days before a meeting, and the need is now. You'll be able to help when the help is needed.

It all fits one screen wide on my work computer. I have to warn you that people at work either love or hate me to check their work.
I agree with the others - this is a very peaceful and hopeful site.
The word "neither" is mispelled in "neirther endorses or supports any cause". A bit later it says "by welcoming an" instead of "by welcoming and".
Can you make the serenity prayer picture at the top a tiny bit larger so it is easier to read the words?
The only other change I'd make to the first page (if you can) is to make the "What is Al-Anon" part have more of a right margin separating it a bit more from the 12 step list.
On the "about Al-Anon" page, I think that "click below by clicking" should just be "by clicking".
I'm having a bit of trouble telling the difference between , and . on the various pages as well. It almost looks like there are two spaces after the ,s. It may be the font or may be that as I read, I see the spaces and want to make it a .??
How can there "be an Ala-Teen group" if it is inactive?? Maybe (if this is the case) say that there are qualified sponsers ready and able to lead an Ala-Teen group in this area??
On the FAQ page, under "what is a meeting like", the second sentence about how meetings are often opened has a typo. At the bottom of that page it says "some members even more than one" - the word "have" is missing.
I love the horse picture!

Okay - I tried it at my normal 1024x768 and it looked great - then I switched to 800x600 - which most people use, and it had to be scrolled left to right. I try to make my sites all fit 800x600 if possible, then they still look good at higher resolutions, too.
Dorothy pointed out the only typos I could see, and I agree that it has a very peaceful overall feel to it - GREAT JOB.

Our meticulous, Methodical Dorothy caught lots of little errors. I think we should make Dorothy into a verb; you know, to Dorothy something. Chris, when you're done Dorothying the website, let us know, and we'll Dorothy it again.

LOL, I will. And thanks Dorothy. That's exactly what I needed! After years in journalism, I realize the value of a good editor!
