We went to a little local community so I could run some errands. Since we had to wait 20 minutes on a take out pizza to bake anyway, we went to the library to kill time. We came away with library cards. I had to renew and change my address on mine and Alyssa received her first library card. So my 3 year old got a library card! She picked out 6 books, ( I used my card on three of them) and she has had a blast all day getting new stories read to her. This will be great for both of us. She has lots of story books at home but as many stories as we read they've all been read several times. This way she can have so many more books to read from and I don't have to keep buying expensive kids books. Our little local library is small and only open limited hours but I was pleasantly surprised with the children's section.

They say nothing ensures a child's academic success as much as being read to. I'm glad you are with her and are willing to read to her. Isn't it wonderufl how fast kids learn and how hungry they are to learn. Good job!

Wow that is great! My older 2 have always enjoyed reading. I hope that I can get Bray and Katie interested too.
Good Job Mom!

Our city library always has a special reading program in the summer for the young kids. They get their name on the wall and earn a pizza or some toy for reaching a goal.
Their are also reading times at the local library during the school year where someone reads to a group of kids and has puppet shows, etc.
Tricia, kids have a right to grow up safe and healthy and I am so glad that you are there to help these kids. You will be rewarded in heaven for this.
