Of a critter that you have, if one is going to die it will be your favorite? I bought 50 cute little fuzz balls last spring. A mixed bunch of feather footed bantams chicks, I lost around 20 of them along the way (no wonder they sent 50 when I ordered 25!) My birds are now gown, and I had two little hens that I just loved! They were tiny, no bigger than a pidgeon and they were gentle natured. I liked to hold and pet them, and they would even perch on your finger. Well I went out to check my birds and found both of them dead! Not one of those stupid roosters that start crowing at 4am, no it had to be both of my favorite birds.

Oh Hasha, I'm so sorry! I love chickens; they're so much fun to watch. And it's nice to have the eggs, too. We used to have chickens, and one of the chicks, a Barred Rock, was sort of deformed. She was really tame and sweet, and would follow you if she could. We found her dead one day in the manger of a tie stall we don't use. We don't know why. She survived the onslaught of the raccoons a couple of times. I'm so sorry about your sweet little chickens.

dang it, sorry Hasha. I used to have a flock of Banties and Aracauna chickens (the ones that lay the blue and green eggs)... We had some favorites among them and it was always sad when something happened to them.
