I only get the magazines that come with my association memberships... Endurance News and Arabian Horse....
I loff Endurance news. Although some of it is stuff I already know, there's always good articles by veterinarians, info on rules, good tips on being a more effective rider, and of course great ride stories and photos. And it has a calendar of all the rides across the country.
As for the ARabian magazine I get with my membership to AHA, it sucks. It's geared mostly toward the show crowd with one or two token references for pleasure riders or trail/CTR/endurance riders.

My favorite magazine of all time is The Trail Rider magazine. It has alot of information on trail riding and also lists many places to camp. Linda H.

Once in awhile, I'll pick up a horse magazine at the walmart, but haven't found anything worth subscribing to. Back in the 80's I subbed to Equus, and learned tons. Now with the internet, I find stuff easier and don't have to find room on a shelf to put it! LOL I do get a complimentary subscription to The Gaited Horse because I run an ad in there. They have some good articles on specifics of gaited horses. I'm pretty new to the gaits, so that is really fascinating to me. Even though many of their articles are also on their website, I like to have it in my hand for study And the photos are usually great! The only mags we actually subscribe to are WIRED, it's technology, and The New Yorker - my husband loves it, and I usually find some interesting articles or literature in there.

Trailpal--which ad in "The Gaited Horse" is yours? That is a great magazine. The quality of the photos, the paper, the fonts--just everything about that magazine makes you want to touch it and hold it and read it. Linda

My favorite is Equus, I also get The Horse, Western Homseman and Horse and Rider along with Better Homes and Gardens, The Mo Conservationist, Freshwater and Marine Magazine and Good House keeping. I think that I need to cutback! I don't have time to read half of them! I am thinking about stopping Western Horseman or Horse and Rider. I sick of them being filled with not much more than fashion and show crap! There's a whole article this month about how to pick a freaken hat! And 5 pages devoted on how to decorate the tack room! Don't forget show fashion.... you must have that bright yellow and purple vest that cost $500 and will be out of style again by next week! Who freaken cares!!!

Linda Last year, I was in the "Farm Listings" section in the middle, lots of text ads. "Tiger Horses at Wyndmoor Farms" is how I'm listed. I have the same ad this year, in addtion to a 1/9 page color ad I have for Miles. The color ad is a one-time run, I think it's only in the next issue. I agree with you about the quality of the magazine - it's almost like those "coffe table books"

Oh, duh, I thought we were talking about just horsey mags!
I also get several very exciting (NOT) magazines about recycling for my job...
And I recently started getting some free mags from some Net offer I didn't even know I signed up for. Haven't gotten a bill, so I'll enjoy them til it comes, LOL...
Shape, Town&Country Travel, and Cruise Travel.
