There are times of the year I really don't want to look outside. You know, gray, pouring rain for two-weeks straight and mud everywhere. Most of the wall space on the south side of the house is windows--the west as well. Most of the year, the views are beautiful. Art by Mother Nature. This project was several years in the thinking stage. I wanted something to look at besides mud once in a while. And, in July and August those blinds are down too. So, today I finally did it. It took me about 5 minutes per window. It would be nicer to have my own pictures, these are stock posters. I glued them on to the shades that were already up with 3-M glue stick. And you just roll them up out of the way... Now to get some posters made from some of my own pictures. Pam Z's daughter is one of the graphic folks. You have watched Bethany grow up on the web. I suspect she will be able to help you make really custom shades with decals and translucent paper and all the high-tech things that are out there. My cheap shades are twenty years old so experimenting with them wasn't much of a risk. I am happy with the results.

I like that. I will try that on the shades for the basement windows and see how it turns out. The rest of my windows all have wooden blinds so couldn't try it. But in the basement it would be nice to have "scenery" that is not the gray metal tubes.

I can't believe how dark these look here on the website. They look MUCH better than that "live." I also have wooden plantation blinds. I find I can clip the posters up with clothes pins---now to find small, better looking clamps. Sometimes you just want to look at something else.....
