Ouch! I guess it's not surprising that all those new strip mall satellite stores are costing Goodwill a lot to build. And I bet a lot of folks use Goodwill as a place to get rid of the junk they clean out of their closets. Whatever happened to Good Willy? Remember him? Can't he live on his eight cents?
I remember some years back there was a tornado in a town close to here. It was on the Chicago media and people started sending money through Red Cross. About a year later, in conversation with their mayor, it was mentioned that the town never saw a dime of the roughly $100,000 donated to Red Cross to help their town. Made me sick; good people who wanted to help, ended up being taken advantage of.
Salvation Army is sure another story. So is RMC. We donate regularly to both.
Thanks for posting that, Linda. I bet a some folks had no idea.

Wow thanks Linda. I do take things to the local Goodwill after my garage sales but do try to send it to AmVets when I can, but they have not been around here in a couple of years. For awhile I could count on them coming twice a year.

I see nothing wrong with your garage sale leftovers going to Goodwill if that is your available option. At least there is a chance that someone will find it there and be able to use it.
