It wasn't bad enough that a squirrel made a nest on my truck engine and chewed the wire to the turn signal and filled the engine compartment with apples and other tasty treats--keeping me from driving to Chelan to see my friend. No, the next day, my border collie cornered him under my car for a couple of hours. He showed his displeasure by cutting my spark plug wires into to 5 inch long pieces. Now, not only do I need new wires, we also need to figure out the firing order.

Expect a package in the mail. He should be hungry by the time he gets to your house

Jenni, My bad. I forgot to stop by the post office on my drive far, far away to release this guy. There is a river between where he now lives and his former home. Turns out, it was a young pack rat.

About the firing order, I bet you can find it online. Daddio used to get themfrom a huge book.

Repairing the car was no big deal. $63 and it was done. I have caught a second rat. And I may have one more.

Oh wow, now that's irritating. Funny in a way, but not as much as it is irritating. Wow, talk about messing up your day! I hope there aren't any more. But remember that saying, "For every rat you see...."

I re-homed two. I paid about $130 to repair vehicle wiring--half of which I did, so parts only. The truck had to go to the vehicle hospital to get its trailer wiring fixed. The trap was another $40--but I have that now and it is a nice one.
My stories pale in. Comparison with others here this year. The worst I have heard so far is a guy near me, new vehicle--less than 3000 miles. Somehow the pack rat got inside his dash and got its head cut off by a fan. The vehicle hospital had to dismantle the entire dash. And the folks who wait for their cars at the vehicle hospital sit around and tell pack rat stories.... It could have been so much worsr. I got off easy.
