SEATTLE JONES, 2007 16.1h Thoroughbred stallion at stud. His sire, Smarty Jones, is a $7.6 million dollar Stakes Winner who came within a head of winning the Triple Crown. His maternal grandsire, Seattle Slew, was the first undefeated Triple Crown winner, #9 on the Bloodhorse's top 100 racehorses of the 20th century list, sire of sires like A.P. Indy.... Cigar, Rags To Riches, California Chrome, Funnycide, Mineshaft, just some of Slew's descendants. Other notable names in his pedigree include Fappiano, Gone West, Secretariat and Northern Dancer.
Jones retired sound from the track and is currently competing succesfully at Training level Eventing with the ability to go much higher. His lovely movement and tremendous rideability make him a delight to compete in dressage, and his scope, honesty and gallop make Xc and show jumping a treat. He has a stylish jump and way of going, when asked, that would also suit the Hunter ring. He is an exceptionally well-behaved gentleman and has even filled in for lesson horses at the barn!
Already has produced several lovely youngsters out of Irish, Warmblood, TB and QH mares.
Now booking for the 2016 breeding season. $500 LFG (includes $100 booking fee), inquire about early bird, multiple and performance mare discounts. Located in Midland, NC (near Charlotte).
This is the horse she calls Jonesy. I had NO idea he came from this line.
She has/had an amazing event mare that she was going to take to Rolex in 2014, I think. I don't know what happened that she didn't, but she & her hub (who was Rose's farrier) are very busy people with diverse interests. I would guess she just didn't want to put in the time needed in just that one direction. So she set Livvy up in a syndicate and sold shares for $5K each. I don't know who is training or riding her now, or who actually has posession. But that mare is one to keep our Rolex eyes on, for sure.
