FINALLY got my new car today!! I've been looking and test driving and researching since summer. Then last week, we finished up refinancing on the duplex and I was able to go get my new car. Ended up getting a 2015 Mini Cooper Countryman. I've only driven it about 70 miles so far, but it's FUN!! It will be a 'dog free' car. I'm keeping my Element for my dog car.

I LOVE those cars. They are so cute! BUT there is no dealer in our area. We would have to drive 3.5 HOURS to get to the nearest one. Otherwise I would have one but it would not be dog free LOL

I was really drawn to the Countryman when I was car shopping a little over a year ago! but I ended up with a Ford.

That car is CUTE! Congrats. I bought my new car a year and two days ago, but I got a bare bones Ford Fiesta which I love. It's fun to drive, too, and so far trouble free. I was able to buy a 120,000 mile warranty very cheaply the day I bought the car. What kind of warranty did you get?

It's so cute! A guy that I work with bought a mini cooper for his daughter when she got her license. She went away to school and he's now driving the car. He looks really funny in it because he is a big guy and its a little car.

I'm still getting used to all the gadgets and, basically a computer on board. Can't wait till Friday to get my satellite radio hooked up! It came with 3 years free maintenance.

He looks really funny in it because he is a big guy and its a little car. DH is a big guy and he has more room in the Mini than he does in his Accord. I'm waiting for him to try to steal my car. But he would get in WAY too much trouble with the turbo. LOL Part of the reason I went with the Mini is because there is a lot more room than you'd think. After driving my Element, everything I sat in felt so closed in, until I sat in the Mini. No where near the room as the E, but more than other cars I was considering.

And, we're hoping to move later this year, so that will make our drive a bit shorter. As it is now, we have a 25 minute drive leaving the island, so everything is a long ways for us.

Congrats! I bought a mini Cooper S...the original size 2 years ago. Love my mini Cooper! Cool! What color is yours? There are a bunch of them on the Island, but I don't see many Countryman. A customer at work was teasing me over how small it was. He drove it today and was really impressed with how roomy it is. A showed it to a friend and she wants one now.

Congrats on the new car! I'd love a new car but we have car payments for the first time in 10 years for the van we bought to replace our van which was totaled in August. The van is nice (loaded) and we got a great price (it was my mom's van but they had 3 Toyota Siennas so they sold us the oldest - a 2011 - for $10k below private seller price).
My dream car is a Subaru. I'd love a Legacy but my back will probably require a higher-sitting vehicle. Maybe a Forester or Crosstrek.

I was looking at the Crosstrek. My sister has one and really like it. But then we saw the Mini at the car show and it just felt right (and fun!) DH loves Subaru, he even sold them for a while. Car payments are no fun, but everything else was pretty much paid off, so it's not to bad.
