I find fall and spring the hardest time to find appropriate, inexpensive footwear for feeding and just general doing stuff outside. I can't speak for all of you, but I am also lazy. I want this footwear to be EASY. I just bought a pair of men's winter boots (winter in Florida, I think) at Walmart for $19.88. They are very lightweight. They close with two velcro straps. They run REALLY small. I wear a women's 8, and what fit was the men's 8. They are fashionably black. They weigh nothing. They are called a "snow jogger." It is rather like wearing comfortable slippers. Here is the link www.walmart.com/ip/MENS-SNOWJOGGER-WINTER-BOOT/36069871I fed in them today. I think they are keepers. They don't have a deep sole tread, so they CAN be wiped off on a mat/rug before stepping inside without leaving chunks of whatever all over the floor. They won't replace my Sorels with chains, and if it is really bad, they won't replace my knee-high mud boots. But, when I just want something to slip on, they are going to work just fine. And there is no way that I expect to have to leave them to someone in my will. For light use, they should last just fine. We all have serious boots for those kinds of projects.
