The good news is that I am to stop all tube feeding. SWEET! Bad news is the g-tube and drain tube are still there, they want to wait and see if they will want to use them after surgery. Sounds like they are planning on opening the holes even bigger, debrieding them, clean out the risen (like an abscess)and leave it all open. Feels like that would be a step backwards to me. There was even talk of putting a wound-vac on it. I will be admitted after surgery and will have to stay one or two nights depending on how things are going. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, and I am pretty sure it is not a train this time!

It sounds like they are making sure these wounds/holes heal properly and completely. It can't be fun.
I think you are right. This time, it isn't a train.

Sounds good to me. Opening up the wounds and debrieding them gets all the dead off and having good live skin/wound to heal. The wound vac is a pain, but they work. They STINK, but they work. They keep it open so the wound can heal from in inside out, not close up and cause more harm. Things are sounding better. Just don't get down about them.

Sure doesn't sound like fun, but is probably the best way to go. I had an injury several years ago, the doctor just shrugged and said "if I fix it, you'll just injure it again". I'm still working on getting it healed (at least I have new doctors)

Wow Trailpal, what a bit of an well you all know the 3 letter word I was going to use. But as in all healing its two steps forward and one back. But I'm happy that there is light in the tunnel.
