She went thru the hot wire fence and got in with Kerry's mustang mare. She beat her up pretty good. Lots of scrapes a swollen back pastern, and a big bruise on her ribs. Cold hosings, Some wound goop, and DMSO on the bruise and time alone is what she got. I was a bit worried about the swelling on her side but it went down with the cold hosing and she hated the DMSO, and it was 1/2 the size today. She not moving so well but not lame on any one leg. Poor old thing, when will she learn she is not the hot young tamale that can kick everyone's butt? Its really one of the reasons why I don't ride her anymore. She gets herself all hepped up and then can't move the next day.

None of us ever wants to admit we are no longer a hot young tamale!
Maybe going for hand walks or easy round/pen longeing will help her get rid of some energy and keep her busy?

Poor girl. They do tend to have that Chris LeDeaux lyric attitude "my body says you can't do that anymore but my pride still says oh yes I can" or something like that.

LOL Yes, I find once in a while I too suffer from that syndrome. But I get reminded of it toot quick. She is much better, all swellings are down. And the scabs will grow hair thru them soon enough. Sigh the winter coat is well on its way, for pretty much all the horses. We got the barn bones up today. Its my old barn, We are finally putting it up. So this winter Shadow will have a proper barn top go into. Notice how well my "big" shirt fits. LOL Oh well it protected my blouse.
