Everyone stay safe AND have a wonderful holiday!
Mom, Dad and I will be having BBQ and watch a movie at my house. When it gets dark the country club across the street sets off fire works. We have wonderful seats on my front porch and watched them go off.

We don't have big plans - I am hoping to do some yard work (plants and maybe some patio work) before riding. Might get with some neighbors for afternoon bbq, but no firm plans yet.
We are a short way from a baseball park that does fireworks after most games - they will have a 4th of July fireworks show too. Our dog gets a little anxious with the regular fireworks, so we probably won't want to leave her alone when the biggies go off.

Had a lovely and fun afternoon at my son's house with his wife, his wife's parents and their son, plus my four year old granddaughter and her 7 week old sister. It was the best 4th of July weather I can remember. Not scorching as usual but warm sunshine, cool breeze and low humidity. Lots of prayers sent to victims of the N. Carolina hurricane. Hope all is well with them.

We drove home from Wyoming (to IL) all day on the 4th. Surprisingly there was not a lot of traffic. We made the quick trip out there for my Aunt's funeral. But I have to say I want to move there tomorrow! We were tossed up between TN and WY for retirement...but after being there even in the heat...there was little to no humidity. I hate humidity! Although the Cumberland Gap area in TN isn't to bad...at least when we have been there. We saw lots of fireworks as we were traveling through Iowa and into IL...girls liked it almost more than sitting still to watch one production

Thanks, I did have a lovely time. It was Friday and the bike club did its ride. Though we had to change the route since some places were crowded with people. Then when we got back I ended up pairing off with one f the others and we got some dinner and talked until fireworks time. What a blast. LOL We talked until all the traffic cleared too so we rode to our cars in the dark on fairly deserted streets. He was such an interesting man. I've never ridden my bike after dark, its kinda fun. Tonight its the Eugene Rodeo with Kerry. More fun.

Marci, that sounds like a terrific day. I'm smiling thinking of you in it. I was painting. And paintingandpaintingandpaintingandpainting. All flipping day. By the time it was time for fireworks I just wanted to go to bed. I thought of Mark and wished he could tell me if I was doing the primer right. Funny how that goes, eh? Sally, have you ever thought of loading a given location for Wyoming and Tennessee weather into your Weather Channel site? You can have lots of locations to click on. I'd be looking at weather data for a year or so, if it was me, trying to decide if I'd rather be *there* than *here.* Not to mention, where family is.... Frosty, I think the whole middle of the nation had that same weather. It was glorious! Good for painting. Kerry, you're lucky to have your folks close by. Sounds like you had a really pleasant and relaxing day. Trailpal, did you end up in a lawn chair like Kerry?

Our neighbors are K and D; K plays banjo and bass for the US Navy, so he had pretty much an all day gig in DC and didn't expect to get home until after 10:30p. So we invited D over for dinner (little sweet peppers stuffed with sausage, rosmary roasted little red potatoes, salad, and D brought marinated zucchini for the grill). K was able to break away early and joined us just before we cleared the table.
We've had a firepit for a couple of years but have never gotten it set up. The weather was so good that I wanted to do our desert around the firepit - so I got some big pavers and just set it up in the middle of the yard. We had our desert - cherries and watermelon - outside, so we could just spit the pits out LOL. It was great! We heard but did not see the official fireworks, but somebody set off some high-grade fireworks where we could see them, so that worked out great!
Then our neighbors across the street came home with a bunch of little fireworks - so for about 20 minutes we heard strings of firecrackers, screamers, bottle rockets, etc. The house was closed up with the AC on, so Josie never really heard the little fireworks. K&D brought their little Bichon who doesn't care about fireworks, so he hung out with us.

MA...it looks like Russ is a go for Wyoming...so far as to even start looking at job prospects It would be an adjustment especially with having horses at home...the pasture land doesn't go as far there as it does here but having the horses at home again would be so nice. Lexi is on board even though we have told her we can wait until she finishes high school but she says moving between her sophomore and junior years would not be an issue and she is thinking ahead to when she goes to college. She says she would have better chances at scholarships for WY universities and in state tuition if we move next summer. Russ has been wanting to leave Plano for some time now and with him having 20 years in at the FD he is ready to move onto something else! What are you painting? Now that we have decided to move maybe you want to come and help me paint the interior of my house??? I will need to take down my horse specific items and make it more neutral
